TWA People Development
TWA People Development was established by Tim Watts in 2004 to provide training services to the UK papermaking industry.
Prior to 2004, Tim spent eighteen years in operations, in four different paper mills, and seven years in training, safety and industrial relations, with the paper trade association, which took him all over the UK papermaking industry. This career journey has ideally prepared him to be able to offer the breadth of services now available through TWA.
Having led the industry's National Training Organisation (Paper Education and Training Council) prior to the dawn of Sector Skills Councils, Tim is well versed in the national skills agenda. The papermaking industry now sits within the footprint of Proskills, the Sector Skills Council which represents nine traditional manufacturing sectors. TWA is an Accredited Training Provider with Proskills.
Tim is the third generation of his family to work in the industry. In his early years, he achieved his City & Guilds 5120 at Advanced Level and undertook the 3-month Post Graduate Diploma in Paper Technology at Robert Gordon's Institute of Technology, Aberdeen. Appropriate, relevant training helped Tim to become successful in his various roles and TWA's training services now enable others to become more successful in their roles, whether they are machine operators, front line managers or middle managers.
TWA's offerings include the Machineman Development Programme; Front Line Manager Development Programme; Leading With Safety; and resources to incorporate within your blended learning, namely FOCUS multi-media modules.
