Since 2009 Kate Leach has run MILS Processes Limited, delivering training and consultancy work to the Paper Industry. Kate specialises in energy use and reduction, refining, process engineering and project management. Kate's specialist area of pulp and paper manufacture is tissue.
Before starting up MILS Processes, Kate worked for Georgia-Pacific - both in the UK and Europe. Whilst there, Kate worked as a Process Engineer, identifying, appraising and carrying out energy, production, quality and water reduction projects. Prior to this Kate carried out trials in deinking plants around Northern Europe, assessing secondary fibre quality gains through washing deinking processes. Kate has also worked in Technical, Engineering, Quality and Finance departments and has a good business understanding of the paper industry and the modern challenges faced by it.
Kate has an MBA (distinction) from Manchester Business school (2008) and a BSc (Hons) 1st class degree in Paper Science with French (2002) from UMIST in the UK.
